Breaking Traditions is an art quilt exhibit I am honored to curate each fall. The exhibit hangs at The American Sewing Expo in Novi, Michigan.
This is an open call exhibit. It is an excellent show opportunity and includes various prizes.
Details for participating in the 2009 exhibit will be up here in January of 2009.
I hope you will join me in making it another exciting show!

The 2008 exhibit's theme is "With One Voice". This year 94 artists from across the United States, Israel, and Canada gave voice to all the good that is present in the world. From the next door neighbor who helped to shovel your walk, to the organizations built solely on the purpose of serving those in need, to famous individuals using their influence to do good.
This year we honor all those who stand up and say,
in one loud clear voice, "I will make a difference!"
In keeping with the theme, the exhibit proudly partnered with Virginia Spiegel's Fiberart for a Cause project. In lieu of an entry fee, each participant was asked to donate a minimum of $10 to the American Cancer Society through FFAC.
As a result, we raised $1,085!!
A very heartfelt thanks to all the very talented artists who took the time to create artwork for the exhibit and for sending in a donation. Also a special thanks to Virginia Spiegel, Beth Wheeler, Carol Larson, Embellishment Village, Artgirlz, Gailforces Fabrics and Liz Berg for donating prizes! Also thanks to Sherry Roberts, Karen Musgrave, Rhonda Blasingame, Mary Dyer, Sidney Inch and Jackie Lams.
