The Spark
Artist statement: Ever since I started working with Ami Simms on the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative, I have had trouble expressing my appreciation for all she is doing. Then I got an email one day from Lisa Throneberry, another $1,000 Promise participant and I immediately got permission from her to use her words - it says it all: "When I think about Ami Simms, I realize how one person can change the world. They don't have to do it all by themselves...they just have to light the spark and allow others to help it burn brightly." Thanks Lisa! I couldn't have said it better! |
