Rabbit Rescue
Leann Mexiner
Plymouth, MI
12"h x 12"w

Artist statement: In an old warehouse in Plymouth resides the Midwest Rabbit Rescue. There they house bunnies they have rescued from bad situations, spay and neuter them and offer them for adoption to a good home. The people at the Midwest Rabbit Rescue are dedicated to educating the public about the unique needs of rabbits and the joys a pet bunny can bring to a family. Rabbits are the third most surrendered animal to shelters. Often owners do not understand the need for veterinary care or understand the perils of releasing a domestic rabbit into the wild. The Midwest Rabbit Rescue is a no-kill shelter that will match a potential pet owner with an appropriate rabbit. They also give out free rabbit poop,
which is an excellent fertilizer!
