The Three C's of Girl Scouts
Artist statement: My quilt honors the Girl Scouts of America. In the three years that my family has been involved in the Girl Scouts organization, I have seen it improve all of our lives...not just our "Brownie." Around the world and in their own backyard, young girls are taught that they can make a difference when they work together. Courage, Confidence and Character: the three C's focus on the most important aspects of trying to raise a successful young girl. With the images and ideas that bombard our girls in this society, it is encouraging to know that there is a place where these traits are taught and encouraged. Whatever she decides to strive for in her life...a girl can go a long way if she has a solid ethical background. |
