In 2007, fifty-four quilt artists from across the United States as well as Canada, the United Kingdom and Israel explored the meaning of the word Connections.
Many delved deep into extremely personal issues while other focused on world issues or the more literal definition of the word. Each quilt is as unique as the artist.
The 2007 exhibit produced a varied and remarkable array of styles. Enjoy viewing the gallery and we hope you will join us for next year's exhibit!

How NOT to Mend a Broken Heart
24"h x 17"w
Ren Vasiliev
Bloomfield, NY
Artist statment:
Chocolate is buttons, flowers are safety pin, jewelry is a zipper, a trip to new places tries to lace the pieces. More gifts provide snaps and clips, the connections mechanical and uncertain What can truly restore the fabric of a heart pierced and broken by another heart, disconnected from what is love?

Block by Block
27.5"h x 19.5 "w
Jennifer Solon
Perrysburg, OH
Artist statment:
My quilt plays homage to the ultimate connective toy - the Lego. Much of my childhood was spent playing and creating with these versatile toys. In fact, my children now play with the very same legos as I did! While a soliary block may not be terribly exciting, multiple blocks connected together can produce incredible designs. I especially like how the construction process - block by block- mimics that of traditional quilts.
